Learn the basics of Belly Dancing
at Shambala Yoga Studio & Wellness Center
2.5-hour Workshop Saturday Oct 25th
6pm – 8:30pm
With SORAYA

Learning to belly dance is a unique experience and
can be very rewarding with a little bit of effort. This workshop will be
challenging but fun, providing precise instruction in a relaxed atmosphere. The
core elements of the dance will be taught in order to build a solid foundation.
These basic movements will then be linked together into easy-to-learn
combinations that make moving to the music irresistible!

Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement
(what you would wear to yoga class, for example). Most street shoes will
interfere with some of the movements so plan to go barefoot or wear socks. You
may also want to bring a shawl or scarf to wrap around your hips.

Workshop fee is $25

All levels welcome, pay at the door

Shambala Yoga
Studio & Wellness Center is located at 8785 Mentor Ave, in Mentor, behind the Dairy Queen.

About Soraya

Soraya is an accomplished and internationally acclaimed Oriental
dancer, as one of her many talents, who has charmed audiences across the world
including Austria, England, US, Egypt,
South Africa and Japan.  With her natural abilities she has danced
into the hearts of both Arab and American audiences, performing at numerous
nightclubs, haflas and gala shows.   She ultimately moved to Egypt where she
met the famous Samir Sabry which led to performances at weddings and
international shows with the singer/actor. Soraya moved
to Cleveland
one year ago where she has returned to teaching and performing the
beautiful art of Raqs Sharqi.  Through her travels and studies in medicine, she has
gained great insight into the abilities of the human mind and body.  Soraya’s
dance has matured with her, enabling her to have grasped that ‘feeling’ of the
authentic Oriental dancer, which she states comes from “dancing from her
core.”  For Soraya, Oriental dance is the manifestation of musical
expression through the dancer’s body, mind and soul.
