Cleveland Public Theatre announces new audition dates for The Aperture

ABOUT THE PLAY: The Aperture is a new play by Sean Christopher Lewis and
the inaugural winner of the Rosa Parks Playwright Award. Aperture takes
audiences on a wild journey that explores America 's fetishizing of
global turbulence, violence and race. The Aperture follows the story of
a beautiful American photographer and her unlikely subject, a former boy
soldier from Africa . In this world premiere production, two actors play
six parts in an energetic and insightful expose.

The Aperture will be directed by Craig J. George, who wowed critics and
audience alike with CPT's acclaimed production of M4M, an all-male
version of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure.

Looking to cast the following roles: 

*         Okello John: Male, late teens to mid 20's, African or
African-American.  Okello John is a former boy soldier from Uganda.  He
is attractive, smart, charming, gentle but with violence lurking beneath
the surface.  The actors plays multiple characters - comic timing a
plus.

*         Alex: Female, late 20's - mid 30's, Caucasian.  Alex is a
photographer.  She is strong, attractive, intelligent, unsentimental,
follows own moral code.  The actor plays multiple characters - comic
timing a plus.

Equity agreements may be considered for this production

Auditions will be held on the following times:

Saturday, November 8th:    12:00pm - 6:00pm
Sunday, November 9th:    2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Auditions are by appointment only and will be scheduled in 10 minute
increments. Actors should come prepared with the appropriate sides for
the role they are interested in auditioning for.  You will be emailed
these sides upon making an appointment.  Auditions may also consist of
cold readings from the script.

 

Auditions will take place at the Parish Hall on the CPT campus, located
just east of the intersection of W. 65th and Detroit Ave. on the near

Rehearsals for The Aperture begin February 9th with performances in the
James Levin Theatre March 12th through March 28th. Performances are
Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
