WAITIN' 2 END HELL by William a. Parker now thru November 23rd.

We've examined the men... now, William a. Parker's hit play, "Waitin' 2
End Hell" , dares to raise the question... What do women want?
*Why are women filing for divorce at a rate of 2 to 1?

*Is the notion that a woman needs a man to survive out-dated?

*How does divorce effect the welfare of America's future... our children?

WHAT CRITICS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE PLAY...

"This play, written unapologetically and often vibrantly in the
African-American vernacular by William a. Parker, is a sometimes awkward
blend of comedy and drama."

"Joseph Primes as Dante scores repeatedly as a proud black man whose
temper flares as quickly as his softer emotions bubble up to the surface.
And Saidah Mitchell is quite believable as Diane, whose pride may even
surpass her husband’s."

"Also good is Gregory White as Dante’s long time friend Alvin, trying his
best to talk his buddy through the rocky shoals of his marriage. And
Renata Napier is a bundle of rampant desire as Shay..." CHRISTINE HOWEY,
RAVE AND PAN

"Director Terrance Spivey (who came to Karamu five years ago as artistic
director and has raised the level of the company’s professionalism in each
succeeding year) moves the production along at a snappy pace as the actors
enliven the set with Parker’s penetrating questions..."

"...The cast is a strong ensemble, featuring a flat-out bravura
performance by Saidah Mitchell (in the lead role of Diane). Mitchell, a
dancer by profession, has adroitly made the leap to acting
 completely
mastering the thespian’s craft.
...the breakdown and catharsis she goes through rank as the purest, most
honest moments I’ve ever witnessed in 40 years of theatre going.
...even God must have heard her cries as she lay writhing on the floor of
Karamu Theatre last Friday night." MANSFIELD FRAZIER, COOL CLEVELAND
