The struggle of work-a-day actresses is brought to vivid life in the
before-its time, sarcastic comedy STAGE DOOR by Edna ferber and George
S. Kaufman. The classic Broadway-style comedy is to be presented by
Akron's Firestone Theatre in the Linda B. Kersker auditorium at 7:30
p.m. on Thursday, November 20; Friday, November 21; and Saturday,
November 22, 2008. General admission tickets are $5.00 in advance and
$8.00 at the door. A limited number of premium, reserved tickets are
available for each performance of Stage Door for $12.00. Advanced
tickets will be made available from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the
school's commons starting Monday, November 17, 2008. Premium tickets
can be purchased in advance or at the door on the night of
performance.

STAGE DOOR is under the direction of FHS theatre director Mark A.
Zimmerman. The crew is headed up by a core of talented and dedicated
students in addition to a handful of very skilled and experienced
guest artits. Daniel Taylor serves as the production's shop foreman.
He is assisted by master carpenter Mitch Johanni. Donna Curfman is the
resident costume designer and Erin Bennett serves as Hair and Make-up
Designer

Firestone Theatre is the play-producing component of the high school
visual and performing arts program for the Akron Public Schools. The
magnet arts theatre program, which is housed at Firestone High School,
is open via audition and open enrollment to any incoming ninth grade
student. The school is located at 333 Rampart Avenue in Akron.
