The Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Academy announces its first production,
ACADEMY DREAMS, opening Friday, November 14, 2008.  The production, which is
a journey through theatre history with monologue, scene and song, from
Shakespeare to modern theatre, runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 14
– 16 in the new Academy Black Box theatre, designed by Ben Needham at
Chagrin Falls High School.  Directed by Academy Director, Tom Fulton.



The cast includes members of the Academy and celebrates their wide ranging
talents.  ACADEMY DREAMS will take you on a trip through time to the ancient
rituals that formed theatre, to the Greeks, to opera, to Shakespeare clear
up to the modern era with song and monologue.



Along with familiar songs and rousing speeches, just a few of the characters
brought to life in ACADEMY DREAMS are Oedipus Rex, Macbeth, The Witches,
Cyrano de Bergerac, Kate (from Taming of the Shrew), Viola (from Twelfth
Night),  Julia from (Two Gentlemen of Verona), Scrooge (from A Christmas
Carol) and many others, along with an original ritual reenactment of an
ancient hunt.



The Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Academy is directed by Thomas Q.
Fulton.  ACADEMY
DREAMS features assistant direction from Julia Kolibab, set and lighting
design by Ben Needham, choreography by Elaine Dowling and music direction by
Marcia Snavely.



The Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Academy is a coalition of 9 school
districts offering college preparatory, professional training in theatre and
the performing arts for students accepted into the program.  The mission of
the Academy is * **t**o provide talented high school juniors and seniors
with a joyful, challenging and inspiring training experience in the
performing arts; one that builds confidence, courage and mastery in creative
self expression and prepares students for high-level college and
professional opportunities.***



As an introduction of the Academy to the community, this production of
ACADEMY DREAMS is *free of charge* to all attendees.



Production dates and times:  Friday and Saturday, November 14 & 15 at 7:30
