LAST MASS AT ST. CASIMIR'S

Auditions:  Monday, November 24 and Tuesday, November 25 from 7:00 to 9:00
p.m. at the Workshop Players Theatre, located at 44820 Middle Ridge Rd in
Amherst.

Performances:  February 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, 2009

Cast:  Three men and two women.  All three men are early to mid 30's.  One
woman early to mid 30's and one woman mid to late 60's.

The Pazinskis are back!  This delightful sequel to 2007's "Over the Tavern"
revisits the Polish Catholic family twenty years later as they face new
challenges of faith, family and moving forward against the backdrop of both
the closing of their parish church and school and the infamous "Blizzard of
'77", the most powerful snowstorm of the 20th century.  Chet has died and
Ellen is selling the tavern, and the upstairs apartment.  She, and her three
oldest children are struggling with the problem of what to do about Georgie,
the youngest sibling at 31 but born mentally retarded and now developing a
memory loss condition.  This is a powerful play, both funny and poignant,
examining family dynamics and their changing nature over time.
