DIGITAL FILMMAKING INSTRUCTOR

Since 2002, Progressive Arts Alliance (PAA) has been exciting students 
with dynamic arts-in-education programming. PAA's mission is to provide 
experiences in the contemporary arts that stimulate critical thinking 
and promote progressive thought. We have part-time teaching 
opportunities for qualified, creative professionals.

We are currently looking for instructors to teach 4th-6th grade students 
the art of digital filmmaking through in-school residencies January 
through March 2009. Qualified candidates must be available 2-4 days a 
week between 8 am-4 pm.

Technical experience in the field of Digital Filmmaking is a must. 
Teaching experience is required and experience working with students age 
10 and above preferred. Bachelor’s degree in related field required, 
Masters degree preferred. Official transcripts required at the time of 
hire. The ideal candidate should have experience in lighting, 
videography, audio, editing, scripting and the pre/post production 
planning process.

The successful candidate will provide technical training in digital 
video production and guide students in the satisfactory completion of 
in-school documentary video projects. Responsibilities will include 
teaching students how to set up a shot, light a set, record quality 
audio during interviews, and edit video and audio to create a finished 
product using iMovie.

Pay: $50/hour

group facilitation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups of students
- Versatility, resourcefulness and creativity
- Commitment to youth-centered project-based learning
- Ability to work in a Macintosh environment
- Access to reliable transportation
