AUDITION NOTICE for REGRETS ONLY by Paul Rudnick  Directed by Jonathan KronenbergerProduction Dates:  February 27 – March 22, 2009 (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM, Sundays at 2PM (no performance on Sun., Mar. 1)

Character Descriptions (4 women, 2 men):
Hank Hadley: A staggeringly successful fashion designer who has recently lost his life partner, Mike. The McCullough’s oldest and dearest friend.  Elegant, quick-witted, old-school.  (early 50s/late 60s)

Tibby McCullough: An NYC Park Avenue socialite and clothes horse. Longtime best friends with Hank.  Chic, elegant and with a tad more substance than her innate shallowness suggests. (mid-late 40s/ early 50s)

Jack McCullough: Tibby’s husband.  A highly successful and influential NYC lawyer.  Someone the President of the U.S. might even call.  Classy, fun and a rather relaxed liberal. (mid-late 40s/ early 50s)

Spencer McCullough: Tibby and Jack’s ambitious daughter.  A lawyer like her father.  She is the textbook definition of a woman who should “have it all.” (mid to late 20s)

Myra Kesselman: The McCullough’s Jewish maid, who keeps herself amused by alternating her nationality and accent with every entrance.  Note: Must be successful with a wide array of accents. (Age variable but late 20s at youngest.)

Marietta Claypoole: Tibby’s eccentric, shallow and rather addled mother. She makes all the other characters appear deep.  Dim-witted, delightful and a product of privilege. (60s/late 70s)

About the play:
It’s Park Avenue, New York City. This hilarious comedy blends a cast of characters, including a powerhouse attorney, his deliriously social wife and their closest friend, one of the world’s most successful fashion designers who has lost his partner. Toss in a call from the President of the United States, a daughter’s upcoming marriage and an incredible outcome and you’ll be laughing and shaking your head in disbelief. (Outrageous jokes at the expense of the upper class, plastic surgery, and charity functions. Written for adult audiences.)
