THEATRE AND DANCE – Visiting Assistant Professor/Director of Arts
Management and Entrepreneurship – Two-year Visiting Assistant Professor
to begin August 2009. As Director of Arts Management and
Entrepreneurship for the Department of Theatre and Dance at the College
of Wooster responsibilities include Audience/Community Development and
Promotions, oversight of student interns and employees in the area of
arts management, as well as introduction of entry level courses into the
curriculum, focusing on arts management and entrepreneurship (e.g.,
Creativity and Innovation, Foundations of Arts Entrepreneurship).
Candidates should also be capable of developing more advanced classes in
at least two of the following areas: Independent Arts Entrepreneurs in
the Global Market, Marketing Culture and the Arts, Financial Knowledge
for the Arts Entrepreneur, Artistic Entrepreneurial Solutions to World
Poverty and/or Gender and Arts Entrepreneurship. Participation in the
College’s Interdisciplinary Programs, including First-year Seminar, is
expected. Terminal degree in Arts Management and/or Entrepreneurship,
teaching experience, and/or significant experience in the industry
