The triumphant return of Akron's Holiday Event of the Season includes Emmy award-winning news anchor Eric Mansfield of Channel 3 News, dozens of new costumes, and a full stage turntable! Weathervane Playhouse is pleased to announce sixteen performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Broadway blockbuster. Joseph has instant appeal for every audience, shimmering with elaborately staged production numbers and a score full of hits! Back by popular demand for it's NINTH season, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a Young Actor Series production on stage at Weathervane from Friday, November 25 ~ Sunday, December 21, 2008. The musical tells the story of Joseph, a young man with a knack for having prophetic dreams. He incurs the jealousy of his brothers when his father gives him a magnificent colorful coat. The adventure that ensues tells an epic tale of biblical proportion! We are proud to welcome the extraordinary team of Sarah Bailey as the Director and Lead Choreographer and Evie Morris as Musical Director and Conductor.

Sarah Bailey (Director and Choreographer) is a graduate of Ohio Northern University and has her Masters in Music and Pedagogy from the prestigious Westminster Choir College. Sarah has sung onstage at Carnegie Hall with the New York Philharmonic and was a grand finalist at the Guangdong International Vocal Competition in China.

Evie Morris (Musical Director) is returning to Weathervane after serving as the Musical Director for The Full Monty in June of 2006. She works as a musical director, pit player, accompanist and teacher throughout Northeast Ohio.

The role of Joseph will be played by Jonathon Merechant of Akron. Jonathon is a sophomore at Firestone High School where he is a member of the symphonic choir. Last spring he received a "superior" rating at the OMEA Choral Competition in both men's and symphonic choir.

The Narrator will be played by Erica Butler of Dover, Ohio. Erica is a recent graduate of Dover High School and will be attending Dayton University this Spring. Although Erica had performed in seven productions in her hometown community, this is her first appearance on Weathervane's stage.

Two time Emmy award-winning news anchor Eric Mansfield of Channel 3 Akron/Canton news will be returning to play two roles -- Jacob and Pharaoh.  Eric has been nominated for five Emmys for his work as a news anchor and reporter for WKYC-TV and as host of Akron News Now.

The production promises to be an entertaining and fun family production. ONE Special weekday morning performance is available, along with regular public performances. Tickets are $12.
