Brecksville Theater On The square has big plans for 2009, its 35th season!

The 2009 performance schedule opens with the musical City Of Angels directed by Geoffrey Short, March 13th-29th. An interweaving of two plots, City Of Angels features a story about the writing of a screenplay in the legendary Hollywood of the 1940's, and then presents the enactment of that screenplay. Based on a book by Larry Gelbart, the show features a swinging score by Cy Coleman and David Zippel.

BTOTS' Education Director Meriel Sikora will then direct the one act musical Children's Letters to God May 14th-17th. Inspired by the book of the same name, this is a musical that follows the lives of young friends as they voice beliefs, desires, questions and doubts common to all people, but uniquely expressed by children.

The season wraps up with a show which requires no description: the timeless musical Grease, directed by Kimberly Bush, November 6th-22nd.

BTOTS' education offerings will continue to expand, with winter and fall workshops, and ongoing master classes. The ever-popular summer camp will again take place over two weeks in July, culminating in four performances where campers can showcase their newly-learned skills. And finally, the monthly senior play reading group, the Retreads, led by BTOTS founder Jeannette Winter, will continue to meet.

It all adds up to an ambitious year at BTOTS! As in the past, the groups' success depends on the tremendous energy of its many volunteers, and new people are always welcome!
