The Broadview Heights Spotlights will be holding auditions for the comedy “Butterflies Are Free” on Sun., Dec. 28, 2:00-4:30PM and Mon.,Dec. 29, 7:00-9:30PM.  Auditions will be at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, 9543 Broadview Road (next to the police station). Show dates are Feb. 20 - Mar. 7, 2009.  The characters are Don Baker (early 20's); Jill Benson (19 years old); Florence Baker (40's-50's); Ralph Austin (mid to late 20's).  (Note:  actors/actresses may be older, but must look character age.)  The show will be directed by Deb Sweat.

Show synopsis:  Young Don Baker, hero of his mother's children's book series, "Donny Dark" has been blind since birth, his overprotective mother following his every move. Don finally decides to take his own apartment in Manhattan and pursue his songwriting ambitions. When she meets his kooky neighbor, sexy actress Jill, Mrs. Baker's controlling instincts go into overdrive with hilariously touching results.  (Baby Boomers may remember the 1972 film starring Goldie Hawn.)
