Firestone Theatre hosts its annual evening of one-act plays at 7:30
p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2009. The One-Act Play Festival is a
short evening of theatre presented in the school's Linda B. Kersker
Auditorium. Admission is $5.00 and is available only at the door.

This year's festival features two short plays written by former FHS
students in addition to three other short plays under the direction of
guest artists, graduates, and students. Among the plays are two by
graduates of Firestone's theatre program; they are "Little Spider Foo
Foo" by Mary Siegel (FHS Class of 2007) and "Life's Not Fair" by Dana
Schweiger (FHS class of 2008) Other plays include "A Dog's Life" by
Pam Valentine, "The Brothers Grimm Spectacular" by Don Zolidis, and
"Variations on the Death of Trotsky" by David Ives.

"A Dog's Life" is under the direction of Myron J. Lewis and features
seniors Al'ece Andrews, Rakim Coleman, Je'Nae Dozier, Davieon
Franklin, and Morgan Frye. The play also features junior Benjamin
Black.

"The Brothers Grimm Spectacular" is directed by FHS alumnae Jessi
Hale. It features seniors Kareem Browne and Katie Graham, sophomores
Jasmine Benson-Williams, Jillian Bryson, Annika Johnson, LaSosha
Edwards, Devonn Patterson, and freshman Shayla Averiette and Dominique
Haskins.

"Life's not Fair" is directed by Elynmarie Kazle features senior Brian
Jackson, junior Hannah Daveshvar and freshman Marissa Wilson.

"Variations on the Death of Trotsky" is directed by FHS senior Michael
Rauh. It features senior Joe Levack and sophomores Becca Aronholt and
Denzel Washington.
