AUDITIONS forRumors by Neil Simon and directed by Ron Newell will be held on Monday, January 26th and Tuesday, January 27th at 7:30pm at Clague Playhouse, 1371 Clague Road, Westlake, OH 44145.
Performance dates are April 24 through May 17, 2009 on Thursday - Saturday at 8:30pm and Sunday at 2:00pm.  (no performance on Sun., April 26)

Character Descriptions (10 characters):
The Guests - all rich, well-educated socialites in the Big Apple.  4 married couples:
Ken Gorman: successful lawyer (40s to 50s) 
Chris Gorman: quit smoking on the verge. (mid-30s to 40s)
Lenny Ganz: investments, money management. (40s to 50s)
Claire Ganz: aware of her situation in life. (40s to 50s)
Ernie Cusack: analyst on staff at Bellevue. (50s)
Cookie Cusack: hosts her own cooking show.  No fashion sense. Back spasms. (mid-40s)
Glenn Cooper: running for state senate seat.  Mr. Perfect. (40s)
Cassie Cooper: high maintenance.  Jealous. (40s)

The Police Officers (men or women in 20s)
Officer Welch: vigorous-strong-bucking for a promotion.
Officer Pudney: efficient-eager.

About the play:
In New York City, four couples gather at a deputy mayor’s townhouse to celebrate his tenth wedding anniversary.  The hilarity begins when the first couple discovers that the host has shot himself (only a flesh wound) and his wife is missing.  The cover up grows progressively more difficult to sustain as each pair of guests arrive, causing the situation to get more crazed.  Neil Simon will not disappoint you as laughs come in so fast you won’t be able to catch your breath.

Please bring an audition photo and résumé.  Auditioners will be asked to read from the script.
