'Collectively Speaking' celebration of Cleveland Theater lights up the stage Feb. 9
Convention centers, waterfront developments, fancy condos and malls ... it seems like everyone's trying to find new ways to make Cleveland a top Midwestern city. But let's not forget what we already have: a vibrant theater arts community producing innovative performances from Shakespeare, to show-stopping musicals, to original plays and cutting-edge performance art.

It's time to celebrate Cleveland's theater and its artists!
"Collectively Speaking: A Benefit Celebration of the Theater Community" takes place Monday, February 9, 2009, at The Brooks Theatre at The Cleveland Play House. This special community-wide event is presented by the Cleveland Theater Collective (CTC), a service organization that promotes the viability, quality and accessibility of theater in northeast Ohio.
Join us for Collectively Speaking:
	6 p.m. Patron reception ($75 a ticket)
7:30 p.m. Performance, program, drink and fun ($30/$20 a ticket)

Collectively Speaking will feature a special performance directed by Sean Szaller, a "sampler" of songs and scenes from upcoming productions at several of CTC's 24 member theaters. Joyce Casey, who is retiring from Dobama Theatre after 32 years of service, will be honored for her decades of dedication to the arts and artists of Cleveland. Plus, you'll get to spend the evening mixing and mingling with some of Cleveland's brightest stage stars and most promising talent.
Proceeds benefit CTC programs, including the Danny Morris Equity contract. A small percentage will go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.

The evenings entertainment will include performances from Beck's upcoming production of "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom," CPT's new show "InCogNegro," the JCC's premier of "Cleveland Heights," FPAC's productions of "RENT" and "The Odd Couple," as well as a taste of "Spring Awakening."

Food and Beverages for this event are generously provided by Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse, Metropolitan, Corky & Lenny's, A.J. Rocco's, Heck's Café, Anatolia Café, Fat Fish Blue

Seating is limited. Pay online to avoid the lines at http://www.clevelandtheater.com <http://www.clevelandtheater.com/> . Or RSVP by phone to Jacqi Loewy at 216-469-9160. Tickets also available at the door.
