FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 9, 2009 - Rabbit Run Theater Auditions

Scripts are chosen, and preparations are well under way for the 2009 summer
season at Rabbit Run Theater in Madison. A big part of those preparations
are auditions for the shows. With two musicals and two dramas in the line
up, there are numerous roles available for adults and youth alike. The
productions for the summer are as follows:

Broadway Bound, a play by Neil Simon, runs from June 5 to June 20. Third in
the acclaimed autobiographical “Eugene Trilogy”, Broadway Bound finds Eugene
and his brother Stanley entering the world of professional comedy as they
cope with the breakup of their family. A warm and humorous look at familial
ups and downs, Broadway Bound is sure to touch the heart. Available roles
include four men ranging in age from 18 – 70 and two females, ages 30 to 55.
Broadway Bound is directed by Ann Hedger.

Les Miserables, School Edition (a musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel
Schönberg, music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer)
opens June 26 and runs through July 11. Numerous roles are available for
youth ages 12 to 19. Les Miserables, School Edition recounts the epic story
of Jean Valjean’s struggle for reformation and forgiveness. The production
is directed by Brint Learned, musical direction by Chris Bott.

She Loves Me (book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by
Jerry Bock) will take center stage beginning July 17 through August 2.
Georg and Amalia, co-workers in a European parfumerie, are at constant odds
with each other and take solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals little
knowing they are writing to each other. Set in the 1930’s, She Loves Me is
considered one of the most endearing and wholeheartedly romantic musicals
ever written. The production calls for numerous roles both male and female,
ages 18 to 65. Brendan Sandham is the director.

Educating Rita, a play by Willy Russell, opens August 14 and runs to August
29. Frank, a middle-aged English tutor, is disillusioned and drinks too
much. Rita, a young hairdresser thirsting for knowledge, is forthright and
headstrong. The two meet and forever change each other’s lives in this
comedic fairy tale with a quizzical ending. The roles include one male, age
40 to 65, and one female, age 18 to 30.

All auditions are at the RRCAA fine arts building, 49 Park St., Madison
Village. Auditions are by appointment only. Actors auditioning for a
musical should prepare a short song of about 16 measures to sing and wear
comfortable clothing for movement. Please bring the sheet music for the
pianist. Monologues are not required for any audition.

Auditions for Broadway Bound and Les Miserable, School Edition, are
Saturday, Mar. 14, and Sunday, Mar. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. both days.

Auditions for She Loves Me are Saturday, Mar. 21, and Sunday, Mar. 22, from
1 to 4 p.m. both days. The audition times for Educating Rita will be
