‘Aperture’ Playwright, Director 

To Attend Staged Reading, Discussion 

At Cleveland Public Library 





February 13, 2009 



            Cleveland Public Library will host a staged reading of Sean Christopher Lewis’s new play, “The Aperture,” Saturday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m., in the Literature Department on the 2 nd floor of the Main Library, located at 325 Superior Avenue. 



            “The Aperture” will be given its world premiere on March 13 at Cleveland Public Theatre. The production will run through the 28 th and will feature two actors playing six different parts. 



            Mr. Lewis will be on hand at the library to discuss his play, as will Craig J. George, director of the production, and Raymond Bobgan, artistic director of Cleveland Public Theatre. 



            “The Aperture,” deals with the themes of global turbulence, violence and race. It is the inaugural winner of the Rosa Parks Playwright Award. The story examines the unlikely relationship of a beautiful American photographer with her “subject,” a former boy soldier from Africa. 



            The library program is free and open to the public.
