Kent State Stark Presents a Concert to Benefit Music Scholarships



(Jackson Township, OH - February 20, 2009)       The Kent State University Stark Music Department will present the 2009 Pops Concert, Glitz and Glam, on Thursday March 12 at p.m. in the Kent State Stark Main Hall Auditorium, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township.



Tickets to this annual concert are $10 and all proceeds benefit the Kent State Stark Music Department Scholarship Fund. Admission is free to Kent State University students with a current ID, but reservations are required. Tickets and reservations may be obtained by calling the Kent State Stark Theatre Box Office at 330-244-3348, Monday through Friday, from 1 to 5 p.m. MasterCard, VISA and Discover are accepted.



The concert will feature performances by Kent State Stark students and faculty. Performing ensembles will include the University Chorus, under the direction of Kenneth C. Kramer, performing the music of Andrew Lloyd Weber. The Lyric Theatre Workshop, also under the direction of Kenneth C. Kramer, will perform music from Roger Miller's Broadway show Big River. The Studio Ensemble, directed by Erin Vaughn, will feature classic American jazz, blues and rock music. The event will also feature the Kent State Stark Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Patricia Grutzmacher. They will perform Copland, music by John Williams, classic jazz, and the music of Disneyland.
