FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEFirst Grace UCC Announces: Auditions for“Godspell”A new vision for the legendary musicalBased on the Gospel According to St. Matthewby Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael TebelakConcieved and Directed by JT Buck Dates:  Sunday, March 1st, Monday, March 2nd, Tuesday, March 3rd.Time: 7PM each nightLocation:  First Grace UCC, 350 S. Portage Path (@W. Exchange, Akron) Actors may choose to attend one, two or all three evenings.  Please prepare to arrive at 7 for each session and stay for approximately 90 minutes. Actors Needed:  10 highly committed singing actors (5 female, 5 male) from diverse backgrounds (teens to 40’s), who are hungry for hard work, artistic challenge, and generous collaborationAudition Preparation:Prepare one full song that best fits your personality. Dress comfortably for movement. Prepare to demonstrate other special talents (playing an instrument, clowning, juggling, mime, acrobatics, dance, etc…) Please RSVP by calling 330-212-6709, or email jtbuck at hotmail.com More Details:   Rehearsals begin in March with a series of foundational work sessions, shift into a higher gear during the month of April and early May, and conclude with performances June 4th through the 14th. We will have 2 weekends of standard evening performances, plus 2 daytime school presentations. Actors can expect between 3 and 6 work session per week.  Most rehearsals will occur in the evening, with some weekend sessions.  4 Advantages of participating in this production: 1. Rehearsals and performances will be held at a convenient, central Akron location.2. Even though this is community-based performance, each actor will be offered a modest gas stipend and will be given other opportunities to support their work financially.3.  Actors will encounter a variety of performance techniques and a rich, focused rehearsal process.4.  Actors will have the honor of performing not only for a paying public, but also in front of non-traditional audiences, especially for those who do not typically have access to the arts because of cost and other cultural barriers.
