[NEohioPAL] Position Opening: Director for Expect Respect Play

The Expect Respect Teen Outreach program (a program of Jewish Family
Service Association (JFSA)) has a position opening for Director of the
Expect Respect Play.

 

Expect Respect is a 40 minute educational theater production which
illustrates abusive teen relationships in contrast with healthy
relationships on both a peer-to-peer and dating level.  It will be
presented to high school students and youth groups in the context of
discussions about violence among young people.  The play is part of a
presentation we provide for teens, parents and adults who work with
teens in order to help the audience understand and address dating
violence and bullying behavior among adolescents.

 

This is a yearly contracted appointment and the director will receive a
stipend.

 

 

Main Duties of the Director:

1.	Direct the play "Expect Respect" and revise the script as
necessary 
2.	Audition and select students for this play in the spring 
3.	Hold rehearsals/trainings for Expect Respect in the summer 
4.	Conduct monthly rehearsals and other rehearsals as needed during
the academic year. 
5.	Work together with the Teen Outreach Educator to add/change the
content and design of trainings and presentations. 

 

 

 

Hours: 

Approximately 10 per week from June - August

Approximately 5 per week from September - May

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional theatre experience.

Directing experience and knowledge of playwriting to the extent of
script revision.
