                                                                   Actors' Summit Theater offers
                                                                          "Pay What You Can"
                                                                       for final performances of
                                                                  The Year of Magical Thinking

Actors' Summit Theater is offering theater goers a "pay what you20can" opportunity for the final performances of "The Year of Magical Thinking".  The one woman play, based on Joan Didion's  memoir of the same name, will have it's final performances this weekend, Friday and Saturday night at 8 PM and Sunday at 2 PM.

" 'Pay What You Can' offers our audiences an opportunity to see something special at the theater.  And this show is a remarkable piece of writing, and a marvelous performance."   according to Kathie Franks, president of the Board of Trustees for Actors' Summit.

"Casually dressed in slacks and sweater, Alexander’s portrait of the writer is a credible and satisfying one. Locking in her audience with her eyes, the actress navigates the difficult material and the challenge of a 90-minute monologue with authority, restraint and sensitivity. She is never maudlin, a credit to Didion’s writing and to a well-directed production. "  Fran Heller, The Cleveland Jewish News.

"Alone onstage for 90 minutes, Mary Jo Alexander delivers a finely nuanced performance and is fascinating to watch as she clinically examines these devastating, life-altering events, and all the while we sit there thinking about how wewill react when it’s our turn as she tells us at the beginning
of the play that “This too will happen to you.”. " Fred Dolan, Arts on the Heights

"MaryJo Alexander creates a carefully controlled emotionally tempered mood throughout......her most achingly sorrowful connection near the end...telling of
Quintana's death." Kerry Clawson Akron Beacon

"Pay what you can tickets"  can be purchased at the door, no reservations. No credit cards accepted.  Cash only.  Does not apply to previously purchased tickets.  Adult  Friday and Saturday night tickets are $28.00; Actors' Summit is suggesting a minimum $10 per ticket.
The show is 90 minutes long and is performed without intermission.  The Sunday Matinee performance will be followed by a talk back with the actress, MaryJo Alexander, and Fran Zamore,  Grief counselor, from the NCJW Montefiore Hospice.

Final performances  of Magical Thinking are Feb. 27 and 28; Friday and Saturday at 8 PM; and Sunday March 1 at 2 PM.

Actors' Summit recently announced that will honor the remaining season tickets for Ensemble Theatre subscribers, following the suspension of their season; as well as continuing  to honor season subscriber tickets for Carousel Dinner Theater following the permanent closing of that theater.
