[NEohioPAL] performers' income tax questions

Hi,

Does anyone have experience with income tax as pertains to performing
artists? I'm specifically concerned about whether travel to and from
rehearsals and performances can be deducted, and under what circumstances.
Many/ most performers work at multiple venues during a year's time, so what
constitutes the performer's "place of work?" Are performers "independent
contractors?"

I'm not sure how to approach income tax on this subject and appreciate any
clarity on this.
