Agencies should never, EVER charge you for their services for getting you jobs. They get a percentage for finding you work.

This is a scam, and you should post their info here to let the rest of the community know who to avoid.

Mind you, I have been working in the business for over 20 years, recently moving back to Ohio. In L.A., pretty much everybody knows what the scams are and avoids them, but back here there are leaches that know that a lot of people aren't savvy to their scams.

  NEOhioPal Community,

   I have a question for all of you that have experience in the market.  My kids are just starting out therefore we have no money to invest.  I sent out some head shot/resumes of my kids to some talent agencies.  So far 1 of them contacted me and told me they are interested in my kids and would like to meet them and sign a contract.  They are asking for almost $700 a child/year for marketing tools, head book fee and being on the website.  They also charge $75 each for a consultation that helps prepare our kids for the market.  They will update our resume, we have to supply our own head shots.  What do you think of this?  I thought money should never come up-front.  I don't have the money anyway but I am just curious to know.  My kids did 5 months of ACT training and I am not ready to dish out anymore money.  Don't have it anyway.
