Cassidy Theatre Announces 2009 Season Change 

Cassidy Theatre- Parma Heights, OH
The Cassidy Theatre has decided in light of current economic times that what their audiences need is a good laugh. They believe they can provide laughter in abundance with a change to their season. The Cassidy Theatre Inc. Board decided a month ago to change their previously scheduled production of Dessa Rose, a beautiful musical that follows the story of two women’s struggle during the Civil War era, and replace it with the uproariously funny comedy Lend Me A Tenor  by Ken Ludwig.  “The change in the season will give our audiences a chance to escape from their problems if only for an hour or two,” says the theatre’s Managing Director Diana Kullgren.  
	The change to the season was suggested by Cassidy Board President Geoffrey Short who was originally set to direct Dessa Rose. His suggestion came about by evaluating the current economy and the need to bring laughter to the Cassidy Theatre Stage. 
	The theatre still hopes to produce Dessa Rose at a later time when it is more appropriate. Our goal is to bring entertaining, and enlightening theatre to the stage, and hope to continue bringing the community great theatre that is close to home.
	Lend Me A Tenor is the Tony award winning play where world famous tenor Tito Morelli is set to perform Otello in hopes to put the Cleveland Grand Opera Company on the operatic map. When he is late for the rehearsals and overdoses on cold medicine it is up to Max, an aspiring singer to save the day. When Tito wakes up their worlds are turned upside down. Lend Me A Tenor will run on the Cassidy Theatre’s Cox Communication Stage May 29- June 14 Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Cassidy Theatre Box Office during regular hours 9-4 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $14.00 for students and seniors.
