THE CLEVELAND SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR ITS 12TH SUMMER SEASON

The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival is proud to announce open auditions for
“Anthony and Cleopatra” and “A Winter’s Tale” on Saturday, April 25 and
Sunday, April 26 from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm in the Schubert Library of The
Cleveland Play House. Auditions are open to all adults and students, ages
16 and over. No appointments necessary. Those interested in auditioning
should prepare two contrasting monologues, at least one from the works of
William Shakespeare, equaling no more than three minutes. A headshot and
resume are requested from all auditioning. Call backs will be held on
Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28 with the intention to announce casts
by Friday, May 1. All roles offer a paid stipend. No AEA contracts
available.

CSF is also offering opportunities for a variety of high school and college
students through production internships. Internships include but are not
limited to: Marketing, Assistant Stage Management, Development and Volunteer
Coordination.

Throughout its 11 years, CSF is proud to be Cleveland’s one and only link to
free outdoor Shakespeare. Due to the nature of its highly accessible summer
season CSF offers performers an opportunity to reach out to a wide variety
of the North East Ohio public. Directors Alison Garrigan, “Anthony and
Cleopatra”, and Tyson Rand, “A Winter’s Tale”, will also be continuing CSF’s
tradition of both race and gender blind casting practices.

The CSF rehearsal periods will begin on Monday, May 4 with an average of
five rehearsals per week in the evenings and/or weekends. Rehearsals will
run six weeks through Saturday, June 13. Each production will then have an
independent tech week and opening weekend. “Anthony and Cleopatra” will open
Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20. “A Winter’s Tale” will open the
following weekend, on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27. Throughout the
next five weekends of CSF’s summer season, the productions will travel to
various outdoor venues in North East Ohio. The shows will be performed in
repertory on Saturdays and Sundays and the season will close with a final
performance on Sunday, August 2nd.

a decade. Come take part in the amazing experience that only The Cleveland
Shakespeare Festival can offer.
