Christopher Grundy, baritone, returns to Cleveland to perform the three solo baritone cantatas of J.S. Bach on the Concerts at the Crossroads series.

The concert will feature the Christ Church Choir and Bach Orchestra (Alicia Koelz, concertmistress), conducted by Nathan Carterette.

When: Friday, April 17th, at 7:30 pm
Where: Christ Episcopal Church, 3445 Warrensville Center Road, Shaker Heights, OH (corner of Warrensville & Chagrin).
What: Cantata 56 "Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen," Cantata 82 "Ich habe genug," Cantata 158 "Der Friede sei mit Dir."

Free admission, with donations accepted, and a reception afterwards to meet the artists.



Baritone Christopher Grundy
has appeared throughout the United States and Europe as a soloist and
recitalist.  Recent performances include the roles of Raphael and Adam
in Haydn's Creation, Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs, and M.-A. Charpentier's Messe de Minuit.
 As a soloist he has appeared with the Choir of St. Patrick's Cathedral
in New York, and the Amor Artis Choir under Johannes Somary.  He has
performed in live recital for a broadcast on WCPN public radio, and in
festivals such as AIMS in Graz, Austria, and the Art Song Festival in
Baldwin Wallace.  Mr Grundy completed his BA
with a thesis on the orchestral songs of Gustav Mahler at Yale
University, where he also conducted the Yale Russian Chorus and
performed frequently with the Yale College Opera Company.  He served
both as an assistant conductor and baritone soloist with the Yale Glee
Club. He studied voice with the late John Mack Ousley, and piano with
John Contiguglia.  Mr Grundy is a commercial helicopter pilot and flight instructor with over 2000 hours of flight time.
