AUDITION NOTICE and SCRIPT SELECTIONS for
The North Canton Playhouse Studio’s
>From Script to You: 2009 New Works Festival 
This years format: A Collection of Six Plays - A mix of One Acts and Ten Minute Plays

Who Should Audition
Seeking ages 17 thru 65
Approximately 8 Men and 8 Women
Need a variety of Ethnicities 
Rehearsal only 2-3 nights per week; no weekend rehearsals prior to tech
Work on fresh, new one acts and short length world premieres
Great for Actors looking for Something New
Ideal for those looking for a Small Time Commitment 
 
Audition Location: 
North Canton Playhouse Youth Theatre space (NOT the main stage) at 
1210 S. Main Street
North Canton, OH 44720 
(Public Performances will be held in The North Canton Playhouse Studio) 
 
Dates and Times
Monday April 13 and Tuesday April 14 from 7:15 - 10:00 pm 
Open Audition - No Appointment Required 
(If you can not makes these dates, don’t worry. Please Contact producer and director 
Jeremy Lewis to set up an appointment) 
 
Audition Prep
Select Scenes from each New Work will be read
A monologue may be perform, but not required
Work a director select scene in which you will demonstrate making choices and taking direction
Actors can be cast in up to three plays 
*Bring a comprehensive list on conflicts*

 
Performance Information
Rehearsal will begin Tuesday April 21st
Rehearsal time will be between 
Six Performances - May 29th, 30th and 31st - and June 4th, 5th and 6th 
Curtain at 8 pm; Sunday performance at 2:30 pm
 
Show Listing - Copies of Scripts will be available at the NCP theatre office April 3rd. 
 
Backstage by Stephen Thomas (10 page script) M/W age flexible. Comedy
A stage couple explores there relationship on and off book with comedic laughs and consequences 
*includes kissing
Bad Connection by Judy Christy (8 page script) M/W age twenties to forties. Drama. 
Over the phone, a wife and husband sharing feels and hide secrets both at the office and in the home. 
Dream Café by Michael Laurently (Select Scenes/Full Length) 2M/2W age twenties thru 65. Mix. 
Matt Zero / Kyle "O" by Justin Edenhofer (10 page script) M/M or W/W age flexible. Comedy. 
Two roommates count up the rules for being a good/bad roommate with jarring jest and witty play. 
My Sexy Doll by Stanley Toledo (10 page script) M/M/W age twenties to 65. Dark Comedy
In this dark comedy, a young want-to-be house mom plot to get the traveling sales man of her dreams all to her self. *includes dialogue concerning sex
Suddenly Nobody by Noell Wolfgram Evan (17 page script) M/W/W age flexible Obscure Comedy
One-legged female lion tamer considers new work/life options with her business manager, who fears loosing her as his main attraction now that the lion tamer has miraculously grew a second leg over night. 
Thirsty by Stephen Thomas (40 page script) M/W age twenties to thirties. Drama. 
Two friends, in and out of relational tension with each other, meet behind the backs of their significant other to test the physical spark they feel toward one another. *includes physical and verbal sexuality
