Pardon me , but it sounds a bit like you are discriminating against the Mormons for their beliefs.  They have as much a right to disagree with certain practices as you have to disagree with theirs.  It seems preaching hate and discrimination are allowed as long as its in line with your point of view...?

I am not suggesting that anyone boycott anything. I just think it is important to know where your arts dollars are going. And in this case, they are going, in the end, to an orginazation that preaches hate and discrimination. Plus, they're doing it TAX FREE. I think it is important to keep that in mind.

Well, I know the Hegewalds.  I worked with their son who is now at BYU , and I never heard a word of hate coming out of their mouths.  The ad is a simple invitation to come and see the dance company.  If one doesn;t want to, you don't have to.

In this controversy I don't know who is worse.  The people exercising their constitutional rights of free speech wanting to preserve the status quo as they see it, or the protesters stretching the limits of free speech and centuries old definitions of families.  Personally, the activities of some of the same-sex marriage proponents that lobbied to get people fired from their jobs for their views reminded me of the blacklisting of artists sixty years ago for their political views.  

One should never try to take one's livelihood away from a man or woman.

Fred, whom I think is very tolerant, and whose views I do not know, I don't think would  censor or condone lobbying against any arts group of this kind.

That's 16 or 18 dollars that I'd rather spend on almost anything els e, rather than see it in the pockets of people who will just use it to continue their campaign of discrimination.
