The Players Guild Theatre Presents The Princess and the Pea         

Canton, OH- The Players Guild Theatre to present a light-hearted tale, based on the popular children's story by Hans Christian Andersen, and dramatized by Vern Adix, of a prince searching for his "true love" with discerning tastes. When a young woman claiming to be a real princess seeks shelter from a storm in the prince's castle, the prince's mother decides to test the validity by placing a single pea under twenty mattresses of the bedstead where the young woman is to send the night. Is the young woman truly a princess? Only a real princess possesses the delicacy to feel a pea through twenty mattresses, will she pass the test? The Princess and the Pea is a favorite story among children and adults alike. All will be entertained by the journey and rejoice with the Prince as he discovers his own true love.         

Presented as part of the Players Guild Theatre's Family Theatre series, The Princess and the Pea is being staged in the William G. Fry Theatre (The Arena Theatre). The cast includes: Jennifer Bernhardt, Rick Bowling, Morgan Brown, Tom Bryant, David Burkhardt, James Friel, Christopher Kamp, Teah Kullman, Jordyn Litman, Taylor M. Scott, Keely Wagner, Summer Wilkinson, and Sarah Young.

This colorful production is sure to delight families and audiences of all ages.  The Princess and the Pea comes to life Friday, April 17 at 7:00 pm. The production runs through April 26 with performances at 7:00 pm on Friaday and Saturday and 2:30 matinees on Saturday and Sunday.
