A while ago -- 27 weeks ago -- I posted on reaching the half way point to
my personal goal of attending at least one performance in NEO per week,
every week, for a full year. (Excluding one week when I was visiting family
in California for the holiday season).

Last night, I hit that milestone with, perhaps aptly, Baldwin-Wallace's
[title of show] in Playhouse Square's 14th Street Theater. Tonight's Verb
Ballets performance at CPH will be the 2nd performance in my milestone 52nd
week.

Spanning theater, musicals, dance, opera, classical and popular music (and
probably a few categories I'm neglecting) at everything from tiny community
theaters up through the Cleveland Playhouse, Playhouse Square, and Severance
Hall. I am impressed by the quality and variety of performing arts that this
region supports. Another reason I'm proud to call Cleveland [Heights] my
home.

So thanks to all of the artists, technical folks, volunteers, front of house
staff, etc., etc., who have provided entertainment over the past year-- and
here's to the next 52!

One of the more amusing discussions I've had during the past year was while
waiting for the house to open for Spring Awakening at Playhouse Square where
the usher mentioned that it would be a much younger audience than
usual...and clarified that that meant "in their 40s and 50s".

Also I'm realizing I'm beginning to miss my involvement in the technical
side of theater. Though my work/travel schedule makes it difficult to commit
to a large time investment, I am interested in seeing what opportunities may
exist for a lowly volunteer. While it's been probably 6 years since the last
time I was involved in a show ("Chess" and "The Who's Tommy" being the last
two), I think I've done pretty much everything but stage manage and run
follow spot. I became particularly proficient with programming the ETC
Express-series of lighting consoles (24/48 / 48/96 / 72/144), including
extensive moving light work for Tommy and macros for Chess.

(For the record, 24 for the next two weeks, single, and on the East side)
