When Edward Kleban, the lyricist who wrote A CHORUS LINE with Marvin
Hamlisch, died, he left his music to his friends. What they found was a
trunkful of beautiful songs which they put together into a musical about
his life. A CLASS ACT is the story of Edward Kleban from age 18 when he
discovered his talent for writing songs, through his years at the BMI
Workshop, his loves, his struggles, his writing the lyrics for A CHORUS
LINE and winning the Tony with Marvin Hamlisch, to his death at the age
of 48. If you like the songs from A CHORUS LINE, you'll love this
musical about musicals!
