Preparation: Please come prepared to read from the script; a
short monologue is not required but would be appreciated.

 State University
to further empirical film research. 

Please note these are unpaid positions, but meals will be
provided on set and a copy of the film will be supplied for your reel.

The Conspiracy of Donald Whitmore

Set in a coed psychiatric hospital, The Conspiracy of
Donald Whitmore is about a patient named Mack who desperately tries to
solve the mystery of a missing patient, Donald Whitmore. Told through
flashbacks and interviews with the patients and hospital staff, the story takes
a surprising turn as the complex relationships between the characters are
unraveled, and the truth is exposed.  

 

 

TONY (late 20’s – early 30’s MALE)

Tony is the head guy at the Summerville
 Psychiatric Hospital. He is in
charge of day to day operations and is there to keep the peace. He has a sense
of humor about his job and genuinely cares about the welfare of patients. When
the going gets tough, Tony is the kind of guy who throws himself into the thick
of things. 

 

OFFICER HUTCHINS (30’s, 40’s, 50’s Male or Female)

A veteran of the Cleveland
police force, Officer Hutchins is committed to his job and working hard for a
promotion. His/her career goal is to secure a job as a crime scene
investigator. H/she is close to achieving that and the CP detective has taken
him/her under his wing.

 

CPD Coroner (30’s, 40’s, 50’s Male or Female)

The Cleveland Police Department coroner has become a bit
jaded in recent years, having worked long enough to realize most murders go
unsolved. This has really gotten to him, and his apathy manifests in his humor.


 

RAMIREZ and COPOLLA (any age, Male or Female) 

Ramirez and Copolla are two patients of the Summerville
 Psychiatric Hospital. They are
kindred spirits and highly energetic. They are skeptical about everybody,
especially each other. 

 

ROD (30’s MALE)

Rod was once a promising auto mechanic, but as he got older
his temper became more and more uncontrollable. He was fired after throwing a
wrench through the windshield of a car, and subsequently went a destructive and
violent spree. He was committed and is trying hard to contain the anger that
forces the hospital staff to keep two eyes on him at all times. 

 

DONALD (20’s MALE)

Donald is a patient who has severe bouts of paranoia that
leave him crippled with fear. He is convinced that somebody is going to hatch a
murder conspiracy and kill him. His only method of coping is to constantly eat
chocolate bars.
