Physical
Comedy and Stage Combat for Improvisers

With
John C. Davis

Sunday,
June 7th, 6-9 pm. Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2592 West
14th St ., Cleveland, OH.

$35.

Learn
the techniques of physical storytelling and stage combat as they
apply to the improv stage. Learn safe falling, basic fisticuffs and
physical comedy while working without a script. Learn to throw a
realistic punch and react in a true manner while acting completely in
the moment.

John
C. Davis has been a theater professional for more than two decades, a
fight coordinator at Beck, Weathervane and the Cleveland Shakespeare
Festival, and a director at Weathervane and the CSF. He has taught
stage combat with, among others, the International Order of the Sword
and Pen, the Florida Renaissance Festival and at Oberlin College.

John
is probably best known for his comedy Sword-fighting Show Hack
and Slash. The Show has been seen internationally for
more than fifteen years and over four thousand performances. After
the events of September 11, 2001, John has spent a large portion of
every year entertaining the armed forces on six USO tours. These
tours traveled to sixteen countries including the most remote regions
of Afghanistan and Iraq. In March of 2006, while in Fallujah, Iraq,
Hack and Slash performed their one hundredth show for the USO.

Space
in this workshop is limited. Contact Andrew Jorgensen at
