WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, DOESN'T STAY IN VEGAS ANYMORE!.....

Because it 's all happening at The Youngstown Playhouse casino style fundraiser,"A NIGHT AT THE RACES IN VEGAS!," Saturday, June 20 at the Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane. The event will take place in the lobby and Moyer Room of the theatre.

Doors open at 6 p.m. when guests can try their luck at the gaming tables, which will feature Roulette, craps, Blackjack and poker. There will both a Chinese and silent auction, as well as a theatre themed art show. Live music will provide the background, and costumed servers will circulate with hors d'oeuvres. A cash bar will be available.  At 7:30, It's "post time" as the first of ten video horse races starts. Place your bets..and then, it's winner take all!

Dr. John Cox is chairman of "A NIGHT AT THE RACES IN VEGAS," and John R. Herbert is the event director. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Youngstown Playhouse. Admission is $5 per person. For advanced ticket sales and further information, call the Playhouse office at (330) 788-8739.

1. Please come! At $5 per ticket, it's a sure bet you'll have a great time. It's a night designed to be fun and festive - and after all, who better to help us put the "fun" in fundraiser, but YOU!


2. "We Got the Horse Right Here!" And you can name one (or more) of the 100 horses (10 horses per race) in our 10 video races for only $25. 3. Buy an ad in our program. Various sizes and prices are available, which means YOUR information can be available to the hundreds of people, who will attend our event. As an added bonus, your ad will appear in the programs for our two summer shows, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK and BLUES IN THE NIGHT at no extra charge. 4. Volunteer.  A NIGHT AT THE RACES IN VEGAS is being produced by a group of dedicated people, who refused to let a dream, a history  - and a future die. At your earliest convenience, could you please send me the information for the fund raiser. Normally I would write up the text myself, but I am kind of pressed on time. I don't know if yo
u are aware of it or not, but tonight kicks off the beginning of the end for my college career...(undergraduate at least). I am taking my capstone course.... It is two nights a week (Tuesday and Thursday) and I guess the workload is extremely overwhelming. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel..... June 25th will be my last night of class ever! (Unless I go back for my masters, which I am seriously contemplating.) As of right now, if I were to graduate today, I would graduate with top honors (Summa Cum Laude... my GPA is currently a 3.8) I have worked extremely hard over the past four years, between working full time and going to school full time I have still managed a commendable grade point average. In order to graduate Summa Cum Laude though, I need to maintain my GPA, which means that I have to earn an A in this last class.... I am so close I can taste it. :-) Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to let you know where I am coming from. You probably won't hear a whole lot from me over the next six weeks, but I will be around, but my time will be dedicated towards this last class...but I will do whatever I can. If you could give me the write up for the fund raiser, it would help me out immense ly... and I will post it to MySpace, Facebook and the website.
