Seeking: Artistic/Business Director, Caryl Crane Children's Theatre

This is a one-year, part-time appointment with the Caryl Crane Children's Theatre, affiliated with and located at BGSU Firelands in Huron, OH.
Primary duties:


1)      Cast and direct two productions (September and March).  Organize and conduct auditions; prepare auditions handouts for actors and parents; organize initial parents and cast meeting; organize and prepare rehearsal schedules; conduct play rehearsals (five days per week - three hours per day); oversee the production crews; be in charge of the performance process - pre-performance, performance, and post-performance activities.  Auditions for the year's first production, Raggedy Ann and Andy, will occur in late July.

2)      Conduct Business-related activities. Prepare requests for contracts for production staff; process contracts from play leasing companies; order scripts and music; process all production bills for payment; monitor and audit monthly budget accounts; prepare advertising invoices for businesses which require them, prepare promotional materials, and related activities.
Qualifications: preference will be given to M.A. or M.F.A. degree holders with graduate experience in children's theatre. Minimum qualification is a B.A. or B.F.A. with extensive experience in children's theatre.
