History's longest running musical comes to Millersburg

Its music has been part of the great American songbook since the
1960's. Now, The Fantasticks, the longest running musical in history,
comes to the Hotel Millersburg for a three night run, June 18, 19 and
20. The dinner theater style production, staged by The Dramatic Impact
Company, Holmes County's non-profit community theater group, will take
place in the hotel's beautiful outdoor courtyard.

"We are very excited to present this great piece of theatrical history
to the residents of Holmes County," said Joseph Ledford, director of
the show and founder of The Dramatic Impact Compay. "The Fantasticks
is a sweet and simple show with outstanding music. I believe our cast
is just as outstanding and those who come and see the production
should be very entertained."

The Fantasticks opened in New York on May 3, 1960 and ran over 17,000
performances until it closed in 2002. A revival was staged a few years
later. It has played in every state, in more than 11,103 U.S.
productions in over 2,000 cities and towns. Internationally, more than
700 productions have been staged in 67 nations. The show is perhaps
most known for the songs “Try To Remember” and “Soon It's Gonna Rain.”

The cast of local talent features Jaden Baker and Kate Lynn Johnson as
Matt and Luisa, two love-struck youths who come together to spite
their feuding fathers, played by Jed Baker and Joseph Ledford. Little
do the lovers know that the feud is a fake and the fathers staged it
so their offspring would fall in love and get married. However, when
the moonlight wears off, can the romance survive the sun? Rounding out
the cast is Tony Snyder as El Gallo, Don Curie as the Old Actor, Shane
Byler as Mortimer and Ali Jaeb as The Mute.

Tickets for The Fantasticks are $34 pre-sale and $38 at the door. The
price includes dinner, the show, taxes and gratuity. Showtime is 7
