That's right, registration for the 48 Hour Film Project in Cleveland opens in just less than a week! You can get all of the information at http://www.48hourfilm.com/cleveland. This year's 48HFP will happen July 31-Aug 2, with all of the films screened at the Cedar Lee Theatre on Aug. 5th and 6th.

What are the different ways you can participate in the 48HFP?

    1. Form a team! Are you an experienced or aspiring filmmaker? The 48HFP is the perfect opportunity to try your hand at making a film! It's not a big time commitment, it's tons of fun, and you have opportunities to win awards and other prizes. Plus, if you complete a 48HFP film you are GUARANTEED to have your film shown on the big screen!* The "Best Film" of Cleveland will move on to compete in the Filmapalooza competition at the NAB Conference in Las Vegas, in addition to receiving some cash and other prizes! Select "Best Films" will also be screened at Cannes Film Festival! Team registration will open on June 9th. Sign up in the first four weeks and you can get the Early Bird Registration rate!

    2. Act in a film! With all of the 48HFP films being made this year, there's going to be a great need for some serious actors! Make sure you sign up at http://www.48hourfilm.com/cleveland and click "Join a Team." You can enter your contact info and copy & paste your resume for the filmmakers to view. In addition, just show up at one of the 48HFP Networking/Meet & Greets. Make sure you bring a headshot and resume to leave with filmmakers. Need a good headshot? Check out http://www.braedyphoto.com for rates and samples.

    3. Run a Camera, Write Music, Edit Films, and more! If you have any of the above skills, one of our 48HFP filmmakers can use you! Make sure you sign up at http://www.48hourfilm.com/cleveland and click "Join a Team" to enter your contact info and resume. Have a reel or some video clips you'd like to showcase? Upload them for FREE at www.thebrianbowersproject.ning.com, the networking site for the entertainment industry!

    4. Come see the films! All completed 48HFP films* will be screened on August 5th and 6th at the Cedar Lee Theatre in Cleveland Heights. Films will be broken up into screening groups of 12 films per screening and shown at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm each night. Each screening contains different films, so come to as many as you can! Tickets will be on sale for $9 per screening at http://www.clevelandcinemas.com or by calling the Cedar Lee Box Office.

    5. Help sponsor the 48HFP!  The 48HFP is sponsored nationally by Panasonic, Write Brothers, Rumblefish, and the National Association of Broadcasters, but this year we're reaching out to local businesses to help support the film community in Cleveland. We're looking for cash, food, trophies, and goodies to give away to filmmakers (DV tapes, discounts of equipment rental/purchase, etc.). There are many great advertising opportunities available depending upon your desired level of financial commitment. If you're interested in being a sponsor for this year's 48HFP, email City Producer Brian Bowers right away at cleveland at 48hourfilm.com.

There are many different ways to get involved, so this is the perfect chance to get your foot in the door in the local film community. Remember that registration for teams opens on June 9th!
