Thank you for the enthusiastic response to last week's posting requesting
readers for the new Fine Tuning program in Chardon. We are still looking for
"a few good men" for future programs, and will continue to post upcoming
program notices here.

For those wishing to attend, here are the details:

A Readers Theater program featuring new works by local performance writers
is being launched in Downtown Chardon beginning June 29th, from 7-10 p.m.
The location is Beans Coffee Shop (www.beans-coffee.com) at 121 Main Street
on Chardon Square. Live musical accompaniment will be provided by Roxbury.
The program is free and open to the general public, and will be held on the
last Monday of every month. Beans proprietor Dorothy Pastor will have
beverages and Beans famous homemade cookies for sale throughout the evening.

In addition to hearing their scripts read, the writers can engage the
audience in discussion if they're looking for specific feedback, giving the
audience the opportunity to be part of the exciting process of developing
new work. For local actors, who may not have the time to commit to a fully
staged production, the program provides an opportunity to fine tune their
talents on challenging new work. There will also be at least one reading
from a classic work included in each month's program.

The June 29th program features works by recent Bowling Green State
University graduate Laurel Gans, Chardon-based writer/photographer Sharon
Haynes, Chesterland-based playwright J.F. Durante, and Chardon-based poet
Grace Butcher. The classic reading is from Jean Anouilh's The Lark, as
adapted by Lillian Hellman.

In Gans script, the two hosts of NYC's The Morning Show attempt to sort out
their complicated off-air lives. Haynes monologue reflects upon the
experiences of a Jewish woman residing in Germany during World War II.
Durante's 10-minute play features a feisty 80-year old woman regaling an
unseen visitor with tales from her life. Butcher's work begins with a young
girl's quest for her first horse, and ends with the memories and reflections
of that same girl in later life.

For more information or to participate in the program, call J.F. Durante at
440-729-6481, e-mail Durante at jfd.cc, or visit www.jfd.csc/FineTune/Main.htm.

Thanks so much for your support.
