Annual Summer Solstice Festival on June 20, 2009

The Shaker Heights Arts Council and the City of Shaker Heights invite you to celebrate the longest day of the year. Art will be the theme with activities for children, street performers, and hand-crafted creations from community artisans. At dusk, join our annual drum circle around a glowing bonfire.

Musical performances scheduled include swing band Blue Lunch, the musical drums of PANic Steel, Prayer Warriors uplifting gospel choir and William Clarence Marshall's showtunes. Strolling artists throughout the night include a juggler, stilt walker, and magician Richard McClendon. At dusk, rhythm specialist Cindy Hill will lead a traditional drum circle.

Shaker Arts Council is generously funded by Cuyahoga County residents through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.
