his light shines 
in the hearts of children 
far away in my lineage

I will not live 
to see smiles 
or witness squeals 
pitched 

“Oo ho”

they too know his name

ignitied from spark 
when hook grabs hold

I see them 

recognizing 
moves
melodies 
dance 
lyrics 
song

“the man in the mirror…”

looks out 
from the other side
