Youngstown Playhouse Reopens With BAREFOOT IN THE PARK

The Youngstown Playhouse will reopen its doors with the Neil Simon comedy, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK. The production will take place at the Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, weekends, July 10-12, and July 17-19.
Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees are at 3:00 p.m.

BAREFOOT IN THE PARK?details the comic misadventures of a "buttoned -up"young attorney, Paul Bratter, and his free spirited wife, Corie, as they begin married life in a tiny fifth floor walkup apartment in Greenwich Village. There is no heat, a leaky skylight and no room for their bed! The newlyweds have barely moved in, when they find their tiny home invaded by Corie's prim, "buttinsky" mother, Ethel Banks, and their eccentric,?gourmet neighbor, Victor Velasco. Paul wants to keep a low profile, but Corie is constantly looking for ways to spice up their life together. Their differences begin to pull them apart. They clash, and when Paul flatly refuses to join his wife?for a barefoot walk in a snowy park, Corie throws him out!

The sparkling, romantic hit .won three Tony Awards and played for over 1,500 performances on Broadway, where it recently enjoyed a successful revival.. Simon also adapted his play for a popular film, starring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. Filled with "one liners" and snappy "come backs," BAREFOOT IN THE PARK is the perfect summer fling for all true romantics!

The Playhouse production is directed by John Cox, with set and technical design by James Lybarger. The cast?includes?John Pecano, Candace DiLullo, Molly Galano, Tim McGinley and Brian Lee.?Each performance will also feature a surprise special guest appearance by a local celebrity.?

Admission to BAREFOOT IN THE PARK is $10 per person. Season ticket holders and "flex-pass" holders may just present those at the time of the performance. For reservations and further information, call the Playhouse at:
(330) 788-8739.

BLUES IN THE NIGHT, a musical revue, will continue the Playhouse summer season with performances, Jul 31-August 2 and August 7-9.
