Dynamics Community Theater of Tallmadge is looking for musicians willing to play in the pit orchestra for Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!"

Musicians needed are as follows:

Violin
Viola
Cello
Bass

Trumpet
Trombone
Horn

Oboe
Bassoon

Harp

All musicians must be willing to work on a volunteer basis only. However, you will be surrounded with a supportive community of cast and production staff focused on mounting a high quality production first, but have fun in the process. This is also a great opportunity for high school and college aged musicians and music students who are interested in keeping their reading and ensemble skills honed while on summer vacation.

Performances will be August 7-8, 14-15 at 7:30pm in the auditorium of Tallmadge High School.

Rehearsals with full ensemble are TBA, but will likely begin July 15 and run wednesday and sunday evenings until Aug 2. Tech week begins Aug 3 and will run until opening night, Aug 7. Musicians will be required to attend all evening rehearsals this week as well as two brush up rehearsals Aug 11 and Aug 13.

We sincerely hope you join us for this fun and exciting adventure!

Dynamics Community Theater is an intergenerational volunteer program in the Tallmadge City Schools.
In 1993, the Tallmadge Schools won a $500 seed grant from the state of Ohio to develop a program that would enable adults and students to interact. The arts, and drama in particular, provide a common ground for people of all ages. With this in mind, Dynamics became a reality.
The real measure of the success of Dynamics does not have a number or dollar sign. It begins when each new cast and crew assembles– young people sitting with their peers and adults off to the side. Drawn together by the roles they play, they begin to interact. Both students and adults learn and grow from the experience. By the time they’ve taken their final bows, they are like family! Intergenerational friendships made during productions continue. More than 700 people from the ages of 3 to 80 have been involved in some capacity with one of our productions. More than 16,000 ticket holders have seen our performances.
