Basketball star Troy and the brainy Gabriella live worlds apart until they discover a shared passion for music.  When they both decide to audition for their high school musical their rival cliques are fired up and life is turned upside down!  Straw Hat Theatre will bring the smash hit "Disney's High School Musical" to the stage for three weekends beginning Friday, July 10th.   Directed by Kim Godfrey of Perry. Debbie Fleming of Ashtabula will serve as musical director of the show's live orchestra. All Straw Hat Theatre shows begin at 8 p.m. With positive themes like the importance of believing in and expressing yourself and following your dreams, this family-friendly musical tells the story of high school students who are struggling with issues of popularity, first love, balancing education with extra curricular activities, and the value of friends and family. 

 

Written by David Simpatico with Music Adapted, Arranged and Produced by Bryan Louiselle, "High School Musical" is based on a Disney Channel Original Movie written by Peter Barsocchini.  Original songs by Matthew Gerrard and Robbie Nevil; Ray Cham, Greg Cham and Andrew Seeley; Randy Petersen and Kevin Quinn; Andy Dodd and Adam Watts; Bryan Louiselle; David N. Lawrence and Faye Greenberg; Jaime Houston.



Advance tickets can be purchased by calling the Arts Center at (440) 964-3396. Those purchasing advance tickets will receive a $2 per ticket discount off of the regular, box office ticket prices.  Advance tickets are $12 patron seating, $10 Adults, $9 Seniors/Students.  Walk-ins are welcome to any "High School Musical" performance if seating is available.  Walk-in tickets are $14 for patron seating, $12 Adults and $11 Seniors/Students.
