AND THEN YOU DIE (How I Ran a Marathon in 26.2 Years)
A new solo performance by David Hansen

David Hansen will present his new solo performance, "AND THEN YOU DIE  
(How I Ran a Marathon in 26.2 Years)" on Saturday, August 1 at 8 PM  
at the Parish Hall at Cleveland Public Theatre. This performance is  
free and open to the public, no reservations are necessary.

This one-night-only performance is presented in advance of the  
inclusion of "AND THEN YOU DIE" in the 13th Annual New York  
International Fringe Festival (see below.)

"AND THEN YOU DIE (How I Ran a Marathon in 26.2 Years)" by David  
Hansen, is a comic solo performance about Pengo, a cartoonist and  
illustrator, running the 2006 New York City Marathon.  While he runs,  
Pengo considers his romantic entanglements, his unhappy relationship  
with his body, his artistic failures, and becoming a father and  
perhaps even an adult.

David Hansen impressed New York audiences at the 2004 FringeNYC with  
his solo performance "I HATE THIS (a play without the baby)".   
FringeNYC gave its "Excellence in Solo Performance" award to "I HATE  
THIS", and The New York Times called the production "a well-made and  
often affecting drama . . . carrying on the grand tradition of  
Spalding Gray."  I HATE THIS has gone on to tour the Midwest and  
Great Britain.  David is a member of the Cleveland Play House  
Playwrights Unit.

"AND THEN YOU DIE (How I Ran a Marathon in 26.2 Years)" is directed  
by Alison Garrigan, and includes original artwork by Cat. R. Kenney  
as part of the multi-media presentation created by Joshua D. Brown.   
The stage manager is Kelly Elliott, a three-time FringeNYC stage  
managing participant.

Cleveland Public Theatre is proud to present "AND THEN YOU DIE (How I  
Ran a Marathon in 26.2 Years)" as part of the 13th annual New York  
International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC.  Performances will be held  
in NYC at The Robert Moss Theater, 440 Studios, 440 Lafayette St.   
August 19 - 22, 2009.

"AND THEN YOU DIE (How I Ran a Marathon in 26.2 Years)" was  
originally produced at Cleveland Public Theatre's BIG BOX series in  
January, 2009.
