July 31 and August 1 -- Heinz Poll 2009 Summer Dance Festival at Akron's Glendale Cemetery (150 Glendale Ave., Akron, 44302). Performances begin at dusk and are free. Will include: "Boom, Boom" by Artistic Director David Shimotakahara (pays tribute to American Blues legends John Lee Hooker, Odetta, Big Mama Thornton, Aretha Franklin and other); "Allow" by Artistic Associate Amy Miller set to original music by Oberlin compose Alex Christie; and "For You" by Alex Ketley.
