Medina International Day Entertainment Announced by Main Street Medina

 

(Medina, Ohio- July 16, 2009) - Main Street Medina today announced the
musical entertainment for Medina International Day, scheduled for Saturday,
August 29, 2009, from 10am to 10pm. The focus of the event is to "Bring the
World to Medina", as well as promoting and educating cultural diversity.

 

The free, twelve hour event will feature international foods, art, music,
and other entertainment, as well as activities for families and a Children's
Parade of Nations at 2pm. Musical entertainment in the square includes
InTransit Latin Jazz from 11-1, The University of Akron Steel Drum Band from
3-4:30, and Scottish Pipes & Dancing and Asian Martial Arts demonstrations
throughout the day.

 

In conjunction with the activities in the Square, there will be an
International Beer Wine and Cheese Garden in Entertainment Alley.
Performances scheduled there include Hollywood Slim (jazz & blues) from
1-3pm, Zydeco Jazz from 4-7pm, and the evening closes out with the Rolando

Main Street Medina Seeks Cultural & Ethnic Groups as Vendors for Medina
International Fest

 

(Medina, Ohio- July 16, 2009) -The historic district of Medina will come
alive with sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and experiences from around the
globe as Main Street Medina presents Medina International Fest: Bringing the
World to Medina, on August 29, 2009. The event is is generously sponsored by
The Cleveland Clinic, Medina General Hospital, The J.M. Smucker Company,
Trails at Montville Luxury Apts., Hunter Insurance/Westfield Insurance,
Community West Foundation, Gymboree Play & Music, Sunrise Rotary, Medina
Rotary, Armstrong, Buehler's Fresh Foods, FirstMerit Bank, Entodontics &
Periradicular Surgery, and Westfield Bank.

 

Church groups, cultural institutions, ethnic restaurants, international
artists and performers are encouraged to contact Main Street Medina at
info at mainstreetmedina.com for more information on being a vendor the day of
the event.  There are nominal fees for booth space.

 

The event is scheduled from 10am-10pm on Saturday, August 29, 2009. The
Square will be divided into an International Bazaar, a Children's and Family
activities center, and an ethnic food court, with activities from 10am-8pm.
There will also be an international beer, wine, and cheese tasting area
beginning at noon with live entertainment, and a huge closing musical act
from 8-10pm to bring the entire event to a close.
