Considered the "American Chekhov" for his deep insights into human
nature, superb characterizations and dialogue, Horton Foote is perhaps
one of the greatest dramatic artists of the 20th century and THE TRIP TO
BOUNTIFUL is one of his best. Set in Texas in the 1950s, THE TRIP TO
BOUNTIFUL tells, simply and penetratingly, the poignant story of a
woman trapped in the city who yearns to recapture her past by escaping
to the small town where she grew up. THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL celebrates the
yearning in all of us to recapture the nostalgia and dreams of a
simple life in a complex and troubled world.



Bodwin Theatre Company presents a staged reading of Horton Foote's bitter-sweet comedy, THE TRIP TO
BOUNTIFUL, offered without admission charge:
