Tri-C offers Film Classes on the Weekend !!!
 

Greetings,

 

You may have seen over the past several months my posting advocating for Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) to offer film classes during the weekend or evenings for working students.  I am pleased to find that Tri-C has responded to this need and will offer two classes on Saturdays at the Western Campus. The first, AIM-Pre-production and the second immediately following is Digital Cinematography, which the descriptions are listed below. Classes start September 8th and end December 16th.

 

If you have an interest in film feel free to register as a student at Tri-C and enroll in the class.  You will need the CRN# to enroll. The AIM-PreProduction CRN # is 86098 and the Digital Cinematography CRN # 88379.

 

MARS2620: MARS-2620: AIM I: Pre-production
Description: Practical experience in a real-world pre-production environment. Skills learned in Story and related technical classes are applied to an actual communications mission. Students take on roles as members of the pre-production team as they cover all facets of planning and pre-production for a major motion media project. Diverse media projects may include: advertising/public service campaigns, feature films, documentaries, media-centered performances, or media installations.

VCDV2180: VCDV-2180: Digital Cinematography
Description: Focus on issues facing directors of photography working in digital video. Discussion of current options in acquisition format for digital film productions and the limitations vs. advantages of a variety digital video cameras. Students gain hands-on experience in digital cinematography: learning to control a variety of lighting instruments to produce desired effects for digital video. Emphasis on the practical use of light, color, picture composition, and camera movement to communicate a mood or theme.
