>From Rust Belt to Artist Belt II (RBAB2), a two-day summit that will
explore the work innovative community developers, artists, arts
administrators and policy makers are doing in formally industrial
cities, is Thurs., Sept. 17th, and Fri, Sept. 18th, in Cleveland's
Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood.
A keynote speech will be delivered by Ralf Ebert, an international
expert on culture and creative industries whose work centers on
Germany's formally industrial Ruhr Valley region. 15 breakout topics
will tackle issues such as legal issues of performing in unique spaces,
do-it-yourself renovation, reusing the rust belt and gentrification. An
expo on artist resources will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on each of
the two days.
General admission for the two-day event is $175, which includes a
continental breakfast and boxed lunch for each day of the conference.
Artist scholarships are available, lowering the rate to $100. For more
