"Music for Tots" with Dr. Carol Linsenmeier will be offered for children ages 3 to 5 and will be held on Thursdays  from 11 - 11:30 a.m.  Session #1 runs Sept. 17 - Oct. 15 or Session #2 runs Oct. 22 - Nov. 19.  The cost of the class is $28 for the entire session.  As a start for a lifelong love of music, children in this class will sing folk and traditional songs, play musical games, learn about the structures of music through movement, and perform on simple instruments.  Through music, children will develop listening, social and pre-reading skills.
 
Also taught by Dr. Linsenmeier will be "Hands-on Music Theory" for ages 6 to 10 on Mondays from 5 - 5:30 p.m. Session #1 runs Sept. 14 - Oct. 12 or session #2 runs Oct. 19 - Nov. 16.  The cost of the class is $28 for the entire session. Using a hands-on approach, students in this class will learn to read basic music notation, learn to build scales and chords, and harmonize melodies.  Students will gain an understanding of the building blocks of music that will enhance their appreciation and performance of it.  

Beginning Percussion with Frank Montanaro for ages 10 - 14 will be taught Saturdays, 9:30 - 10:15 p.m.  for 10 weeks beginning Sat., Sept. 19th.  $50 class fee/$45 members plus $25 - $30 materials fee for drum pad and sticks.  Students will learn basic stick technique 
and percussion rudiments.
